I first encountered Kate in person at an OCTIA conference in the early 2000's. She has been a massive inspiration to me and has made a huge impact on our profession. Her legacy includes the significant body of work she leaves behind and all the people whose lives have been touched by her humble yet vivacious personality. Her energy was infectious and her giggle a delight to hear. She was a visionary and she dared to not only imagine, but to create spaces in virtual worlds where magic could and continues to happen. I owe her so much and I will miss her.
